Dr. Sanjay Kumar Das
Sanjaya Kumar Das earned his first Under Graduate Degree in Arts, Post Graduation degree in Political Science (South Asian Politics) and first Professional Graduate Degree in Education from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Due to his immense interest in higher studies, he joined Kurukshetra University, Haryana and studied Master of Education and Master of Philosophy in Education and received University Medals and Shri Radhey Shiam Medals for his outstanding academic performance prior to the conferment of Doctor of Philosophy (in Education) Degree. His academic pursuits have been recognised at the national level and he has been honoured with Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Fund Award.
He started his professional career with NCERT, New Delhi as Fellow and contributed significantly in the projects—“Status Study of Nutrition, Health Education, and Environmental Sanitation at Primary level”, “ Operational Blackboard” and “Evaluation of Midday Meals in Primary Schools of Tamil Nadu”, and “ Fifth Survey on Educational Research in India.” Due to his professional calibre and commitment, he was selected by the National Institute of Open Schooling (earlier known to be National Open School) to work as Fellow in projects—“Learning Skills among Open Learners” and “Human Resource Development” and was actively involved in Planning of Open Schools at state level and orienting human resources for open schooling system for the country.
Prior to taking up teaching assignments at Regional Institute of Education (NCERT), Ajmer as Lecturer in Education, he served All India Association of Educational Technology (currently known as ETMA-Educational Technology and Management Association) as Executive Secretary. Major contributions at AIAET involved organizing national level multi-media contest among school children and organizing international level conference on Education India-The New Millennium. In order for the international exposure, Dr. Das served countries in North East Africa as Special Task Expert (under UNDP assisted programme ) and worked for the educational and social development of countries of the region.
After completion of the international assignment, he took up teaching assignments as Lecturer in Education and Reader in Education in various colleges affiliated with CCS University Meerut and GGSIP University, New Delhi. His immense desire for serving universities and higher learning institutions enabled him to join Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar( Punjab) as Professor of Education and served the Head of School of Education in LPU. Subsequently Dr. Das joined Nims University Rajasthan as Professor of Education and later promoted as Director, Directorate of Distance Education, and was working in the capacity of Dean Academics and has been instrumental in promoting research and development including quality assurance activities in the university.
